ANDALUCIA Located in the south western tip of Spain stretching from Nerja in the Northeast to Cadiz in the Southwest the area is rich in Moorish tradition. With its vast mountains, dusty plains, superb cities,enchanting villages and fantastic beaches the area is a haven for all types of visitors. The road infrastructure has recently be improved and the whole area is now served by superb motorways. In Winter top class skiing is only 90 minutes drive from Puebla Aida, near Granada, in the Sierra Nevada mountains.
MIJAS GOLF - Puebla Aida The development is approached through the private road dividing the Los Olivos and Los Lagos championship golf courses. You pass the Byblos Hotel,one of Spains best ,where Julio Iglesias as well as many Hollywood stars have stayed. The road starts to climb and you enter Puebla Aida. It is best described as built on a Christmas pudding! Our house is on the second row and is found by parking in the marked areas and then walking up a staired walkway to the right. You walk under an enchanting flowered archway, and immediately you notice the tranquility and beauty of the place. Turn left at the Calle Donna Luisa and our house is the first archway on the right, up the stairs and to the left. Each house is unique, designed in typical Spanish tradition and the four beautiful swimming pools are open year round.
MIJAS VILLAGE Set in the hills behind Fuengirola this picturesque village is a delight. Local pottery and leather goods are very popular souvenirs. If donkey taxis are your pleasure,this is the place to be.
FUENGIROLA Situated two miles from Puebla Aida, on the coast, this city boasts excellent shopping facilities, a magnificent beach and a large new promenade. A marina, bars, discos and a wonderful selection of restaurants all make this a most enjoyable city to visit.
MALAGA The big city with everything you could possibly need,big shops...and loads of traffic. Picasso was born here, there is a wonderful castle and a busy port to explore.
MARBELLA Approximately fifteen miles west of Fuengirola and renowned as the home of the fabulously rich. Marbella’s reputation is well deserved as one of the most exclusive resorts on the Mediterranian. Superb villas, shops and restaurants are homes and haunts to Royalty pop and film stars, and is well worth a visit....be warned parking can be a bit tricky .
PUERTO BANUS Three miles west of Marbella is Porto Banus, the only place to see how the other half live. Amble around the marina mesmerised by the size and oppulence of the craft, sit in a quayside bar and enjoy an ice cold drink in the glorious sunshine. If you feel like a swim the beach is next door. Laze on a towel whilst waiters scurry about ferrying buckets of iced Champagne to parched sunbathers, or if you prefer, order a long cool drink..and think of the weather back home. At night the port vibrates with discos who open at 10pm and close at 10 am.
GIBRALTAR The rock is about 50 miles southwest from Fuengiola. A wonderful new fast (toll) road has opened so you can be there in one and a half hours! Climb the Rock and see the famous monkeys. It is a duty free haven, and an ideal place to catch the ferry to Tangier.
TANGIER Catch the ferry from either Gibraltar or Algeciras and spend a day visiting the Casbah.Marvel to the smells and sights of this authentic Moorish city.
RONDA An ancient town high in the mountains, accessed by an impressive bridge across a deep gorge. Ronda is well worth a visit. Approximately an hour and a half by car drive from Fuengiola, via Marbella.
